But now, my pants don't fit, I'm using elastic bands to hold the button to the buttonhole, and I'm having to face the fact that I'm going to have to invest in a new wardrobe. But this time, the festive specials have nothing to do with it.
*picture of someone else's positive pregnancy test stolen from the internet, because I didn't take any pictures of mine. They're all under the sink at home, and now they're probably kind of icky looking because I peed on them two months ago. So to take a photo of them now would be kind of gross. Oh, look, first step in becoming a neglectful bad mother who doesn't take the milestone pictures she's supposed to take - complete! Whoowhoo!At any rate, this explains a lot, especially the utter and complete lack of energy. Seriously, people, it's beyond frustrating. I'm not pukey (for which I am extremely grateful). But I am bagged, completely shattered, all the time. It's all I can do to get out of bed in the morning, get a shower, get dressed and head to work. By the time I sit down at my desk I could totally use a nap. I can't think, I can't speak. As you can tell from my sorely neglected other blog, I can't even write. I sit down in front of the laptop and put my fingers on the keys and promptly fall asleep. I am hoping this first trimester energy crisis will be over soon because, seriously people. I can't live like this. I'm telling you this: If he/she doesn't knock it off soon, this kid is NEVER getting the car.
21 things to say:
Holy crap.
Congrats!
OMG!! Congrats Shannon!
Congratulations! I am sad to report that your last paragraph also describes how you feel for the next five years after they are born.
Congratulations. :)
Congratulations! Welcome to the club. And I hate to say that jaywest is right. We're in year three with no relief in sight. Thank God they are cute as buttons ;)
omg omg omg!! humongo congratulations shannon!!! so excited for you!
Yay baby! Woo hoo! Congrats!
Congrats!I'm not having any rugrats, but I love it when other people do.
@scammer - yeah, that's what I said too.
@Halyma - now you know why I haven't been blogging :) It's IMPOSSIBLE.
@Kelly thanks! No more wine soaked tweetups for me, booooo
@jaywest - thanks and whoohoo? Heh. Am still making SXSW though!
@sassymonkey thanks doll. And HAND OVER THE MITTENS. Whoops. Inside voice getting outside.
@ecomama thank you :) Don't you have triplets? I'm hoping our chaos won't be quite as chaotic as that. One never knows though. :)
@UpsideUp squeeeee! Only downside: I'm due three weeks before BlogHer. I don't know if planning on going is sane or insane!
@skye thanks lady!
@nichelle - thanks! I loved living vicariously through other moms, heh. If nothing else it was great birth control :)
I'm joining the "Holy Crap" brigade :-)
Yup, triplets are us, and chaos reigns supreme! There's something to be said for having them one at a time. :)
Oh wow! Congratulations! Time to launch your mommy blog, I guess. ;-)
Congrats again. Do you have an exact(ish) due date? I know we're awfully close! :)
@Kim - hah, yes, I know you had pretty much given up hope!
@ecomama - yes. Although I hear that multiples get easier as they get older since they entertain each other. Any truth to that rumour? :)
@WTL - meh, i'll just use this one. I can't be bothered to think up a catchy new URL. :)
@kristy - June 30th. I don't know what that's going to mean for Chicago, given that I'm fully aware due dates are just a suggestion, and add to that the fact I'd need to get the kid a passport before we could fly. Gah! Are you planning on going?
Congratulations! How wonderful! And yeah, don't worry about the "milestones" stuff. I still haven't even started Peanut's "baby book"... um... she's 2 years and 4 months old. Bad mommy.
Well yes and no. At two years and 3 and a half months (but who's counting right? ;)) they are just starting to entertain each other. Mostly I play referee and kisser of booboos.
Congratulations on your little blessing!! I hope that after month 3 you start feeling better. :)
OH MAH GAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
*woooooooooot!!!!!!*
It was my baby that did it, right? In October? He totally sucked you in, right? Pumped those ovaries? I KNEW IT.
@michelle - awesome, good to know I have company on the many years of guilt ahead of me! :)
@Rebecca - thank you!
@HerBadMother - Girl, I was already knocked up in October, I just didn't know it yet. Three weeks, at that point. Even though it was only one week. If you get me. This pregnancy stuff is so confusing.
